Independence Missouri, Blue River, Fort Kearny, Courthouse Rock, Scott's Bluff, Grande Ronde Valley... these are just some of the places along the Oregon Trail. Dangers were encountered along the way but also after the pioneers arrived in Oregon Territory, which was already occupied by the people of Chief Kamiakin, Chief Leschi, and Chief Joseph.

we beleive out of the cheifs. that joseph was the strongest leader because he truely met the peoples needs he made some in credible speeches.he helped free his people into canada.iin the end he earned a reputation as a smart military strategiest and leader
I think that most of the pioneers chose the Willamette River Vally because a lot of the poneers saw Oregon and the Valley as safer and had less chance of getting attacked. Also, the valley was promoted by Dr. McLoughlin, who was an employee of tne Hudson Bay that was owned by Brittain. He told people to settle in Oregon and by doing so he gave Britian a greater clame to the North West.
I believe that so many pioneers chose the Willamette River Valley, in Oregon country in the 1840s, because it was large and the land was lush and fertile, and plentiful. That and that the pioneers were human being who were greedy to own land. But what was more important was how they got there. They got there, to the Willamette River Valley, by traveling the great and vast Oregon Trail for many days, in the hopes of claiming what they thought was rightfully theirs. Okay Ms. Fletcher. There's my answer. I hope you like it!
we believe that so many pioneers choose the willamet river valley because of adventure, great land, and a new beginning in life. the pioneers came to the w.r.v in 1840s and 1860s. they came by sea and land.
i think that chief Joseph was one of the most responsive chifes to his people, because he was the one who refused to move off lapwia reservation in 1877. he refused because of the well being of his people. his story is valiant and compasshionate he was well loved by his people even though in the end he was forced to move with his people to canada he still diserves to be rememberd.thats why i think he is the most responsiple cheif to his people.
I would seem that Chief Joseph was the strongest and most responsive leader and of his tribe. He was astrong leader because he lead the tribe by foot and at some points horseback, 500 members of his tribe 1,300 miles into Canada to freedom and this occured in 1877. This is because General Howard requested that they move to the Lapwai Resevation.
i think cheif joseph because in stead of gettin all of his people killed he retreited cause he new if he faught than he would lose wich was probably true and if they would have then there might not be nez perce today.cheif joseph lead his peple into montana. cause you see they only had three coices to stay and fight or retriet or give up so they just retrieted
In the mid-19th century so many pioneers choose the Willamette River Vally because many thought of it as a less risk of attack by indians. They were worried that what had happend to the Whitmans would happen to them, also they found very little protection in Washington from the United States or the British governments.
#5, question(A)
The primary reasons for the Indian wars from 1847-1858 were the Walla Walla council, the discovery of gold, chief Kamiakin attemting to tke over the colombia gorge to get all the plateau tribes to attack settlers, and much more.
a primary reason for the the indian wars from 1847-1858 in the present- day state of washington.
the yakama wars the wars were placed the plateau indians against settlers and the United States army. The yakama wars were wide spread.why did the Yakama wars start so soon after the treaty signings at Walla Walla council?
So many pioneers chose to go to the Willamette River Valley during the mid-19th century because the valley was lucious with green grass and good oppurtunities to grow things. They came by horse and oxen pulled wagons. When they got there they built homes, families, and memories.
Dear Ms.Fetcher
the primary reasion for the Indain wars from 1847-1858 was that...The Indians wanted to save there land form the white man .. 'The Nez Perce had been the region's largest and the friendliest tribe. The Nez Perce helped guide the Lewis and Clak expedition to the Columbia River. They provided protection to the Spaldings during the Whiteman Massacre. They protected governor Isaac Stevens at the Walla Walla Council.' Washington history book
this could be one of the reasions the the Indain wars to last so long 1847-1858.

I think that more pioneers chose the Willamette River Valley during the mid-19th century because there were less indians, better trerain, and better weather. The pioneers took the Oregon Trail to get there. Then they took a left and were on the Willamette River Valley trail.
Well I believe the reasoning for pioneers choosing Willamette River Valley is...
The reasons for going to Willamette River Valley is that they were in search of adventure, land, and a new start in life. Willamette River Valley is the perfect place for that because it is a new place with no neighbors, well except the few Natives that would yet still be new to the pioneers because they don't know who they are. The land there is probably plentiful because of the near by river which would supply water to drink, and such, but also supply the soil to be fresh to plant and easy on the plow. Adventure, this is one of a kind adventure. It is taking the harsh terrain of the Oregon Trail to a new place, new land, and new life!
Thanks for the assignment online I think we should try to do this more often I enjoy this rather than writing by hand. We should do this instead of homework reflection paragraphs.haha lol
Well that's all I have to say.

Hey Jessie,
I like your idea of doing more of these on line assignments, and we definitely will--hopefully at least three more times in the next three weeks.
I had another idea, too. I could set up a bonus summer reading blog. Oops! Since I won't have the eighth graders for English next year, that won't work, so... what if I started a bonus reading blog for NOW until the end of the school year?
Let me know! ~Ms. Fletcher
